Become is effectively a network of student communities. We are a part of St Thomas' Church Philadelphia and the Kings Centre. We have sunday services in both the mornings and evenings, but we also have a lot of life going on mid-week in student communities... Below is a bit of info about our values, how we meet and what we're all about.

Student Church:

There are so many cheesy lines about community (a problem shared is a problem halved/ no man is an island, etc)... Although they’re a bit pap, there is some truth in the sentiment... We believe that we were made to share life with the people around us.

Having a group of people to have a laugh with but also to share the more deep times and even the hard times with makes life all the richer. We are all really different but our common ground is our love for Jesus. This in part is what Church is all about; being a community of people that look out for each other, share life and want to make a difference in the lives of those around them even when it costs.

Living for Jesus

We are passionate about getting to know Jesus better and being in relationship with him. We take Jesus at his word when he says in the Bible that he came to bring life in all its fullness; this means living life in full colour, without all the things that slow us down. Stresses, fears, insecurities and general hassles can really drag you down, but Jesus speaks about having his everlasting peace.

God’s made us all unique and with extreme talents and potential. As a community we want to see everyone being all they were made to be. Whether we’ve been made creative, sporty, intellectual or just plain funky, we want to use our skills and gifts to love others and honour God!

Making a difference

We believe that everyone has a God given desire to have a positive impact on other people. God created us to be people that love others and so whether you’re a Christian or not we believe you most likely have a desire to make a difference in the lives of those around you and in your community and in the world.

Our hope is that by getting to know Jesus better, more of his love will rub off on us, causing us to be people who want to make a difference for the right reasons!!

So now you know a little about our values I'm sure your itching to know how we go about doing what we do... Well... we have 3 different levels:

1. The Become Network

As a whole network of student communities we meet up and do a few things all together. Firstly we have the Become Lounge which is a chill out space post Evening Gathering at Philadelphia once a month. Secondly we have our mission days where we all hit Sheffield for a whole day. We spend the day loving our city and students who live here. Next we have a 24hour prayer session at least once a term... And lastly we have our whole network weekends away. 2. Student Communities

Okay so next we have ouir student communities. These are like catching up with the extended family... Every student belongs to a community. In your community you'll have a lot of fun, find a small group and get stuck in with mission... We currently have 3 communities: Become:CITY... Become:DEEPER... Become @ KC!! Each of these communities have their own distinct flavour and are defined by the mission they feel God has called them to.

3. Small groups

Lastly we have our small groups. These are close family size. Small groups are where most of our community life is really kicking off... Some small groups do bible studies, some are more like missional teams but the thing they have in common is that they're all fantastic. They're student led and the leaders are great! Become: Deeper

Deeper is a student community at the heart of Phili as the name suggest we are all about depth! We aren’t satisfied with superficial and want to live lives that are seeking to live, Deeper, Wider and Higher.

Become: KC

Become @ KC is a student community based at the Kings Centre. Become @ KC is all about... Hearing the voice of God. Growing in relationship with Jesus. Being part of a family. Intentionally discipled. Reaching friends. Serving the student community

Become city is all about being immersed in city life, being who God made us to be in the places we find ourselves. We are a community who pray, live life and stand with the vulnerable on a day to day basis.
